203 East 29th Street, a rare surviving wood frame home from the 1790s
“when the city went to the grid pattern for streets in 1811, many such buildings were destroyed, and many more were lost in the great fire of 1835. The house on East 29th Street, which is privately owned, was a lucky survivor.”1
