I am so sorry to be this person, but the sod was sourced from a secret location *on* Long Island, not *in* Long Island. I grew up on Long Island and I lived in Manorville. I don't know why it's like this, but it is.

Also the photo of the traffic cone in the puffer jacket somehow seems like the most Bronx thing to exist, like it's only missing some disembodied Timbs nearby.

Oh man. Serious faux pas. I feel like I should be subjected to a three day Billy Joel marathon as penance. It won’t happen again. Hope you can find it withon your self to forgive me.

I would never subject anyone to a three day Billy Joel marathon, I'm not that cruel. Everyone does this and it's just one of those things that my LI ears (eyes?) pick up on and it sounds (looks?) so grating and wrong that I must speak (write?) up.

Thanks for saving me some money and time. I had been thinking of attending a ball game with my son when I finally make it back to NYC. However, as a vegetarian with a son who has severe anaphylaxis, that’s probably not going to happen.

Well both the Yankees and the Mets offer a handful of peanut free days every season and there’s always nachos….

I'm going to next Monday's Yankees game! I like the sports bars in the neighborhood and will try for a beer and a snack before. The server at the one I went to last year reminded me of Cardi B with that NY attytude that's still

somehow friendly.

I left NYC for Norway 20 years ago. I’ve been to a Yankee’s game. But I had no clue that they built a new stadium (I’m not into baseball). Bummer!! Thanks for the interesting read and tour!

I'm honestly not that into baseball either, but it was fun to go to a game. It would have been more fun if I wasn't freezing, but all in all, it was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. They built the new stadium to resemble the old one so it doesn't feel completely different. Thanks for reading!

Did you watch the YouTube video? Where they are walking backwards? You should offer a Cafe Anne custom Grub Tub to founding members. Fill the bottom with Bustelo. Not sure what would go in the top

-A popular song of the early 20th century, later to make an appearance in the score of some Warner Brothers cartoons, was called "Boulevardier From The Bronx". The title puzzled me because it made me think of some foreign flaneur exiled there. However, knowing the existence of the Boulevard/Concourse makes me understand that this was probably an intended as a local ID tune similar to "The Bowery".

-Hughie Jennings, the injured shortstop, would later win the World Series multiple times as the manager of the Detroit Tigers.

Glad Hughie went on to bigger and better things! I’ll have to track down a rendition of that tune though I’m sure it won’t hold a candle to Do It (The French Way).

While I'm not sure exactly how you go about counting, some argue that the highest number of art deco buildings outside of South Beach can be found in Tulsa, OK, which had the good fortune of getting very rich (oil!) at exactly the right time to make everything as art deco as possible. All the same, it's good to know that the Bronx has managed to hold on to its own examples of the style.
