nice overview. The Freedom Land website is great. As kids, we loved seeing the buckets from the gondola ride traversing the park in the distance in lovely pastel shades of aqua and I forget what else.

For them, the robbery where they used boats to escape, according to some stories. It happened in the first year of operations.

Alright I just went through again and found eight. I should ALWAYS read "The Neighborhoods" on big desktop screen rather than my phone so I don't miss traffic cone action!

Definitely 11 1/2 and I'm not even counting the ones in the aerial shots. To be honest, when I saw your comment I was proud of myself for avoiding them for once, but further inspection revealed that traffic cones are indeed the cockroaches of the urban landscape.

When Co op City first opened it had a large Jewish and African American population. Sadly, there were tensions. Anti semetic behavior and racist behavior. (The Yiddish term Schvartze was used derogatory for African Americans) I grew up in Co op City and was called a anti semetic names and some one wrote Jews are Pigs on our front door... we eventually fled, breaking a lease and losing thousands of dollars...
