I wonder what happened to the plaque. Random vandalism or does someone really dislike Kerouac’s work?
Quite a coincidence: I walked around Ozone Park just last week. I actually meant to go to the Rockaways, but got on the wrong A train and ended up at Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard, at which point I decided to explore the area rather than backtrack. Bayside Cemetery was definitely the highlight. I also walked up to Forest Park to explore the abandoned Rockaway Branch line and then down Jamaica Avenue to Ocean Hill.
These are such incredible & interesting neighborhood deep dives! I look forward to every one. Thank you!
Thanks Julianne! So glad you enjoy them!
thank YOU! Love the images and this week's pocketful of history and humour ! And thank you for introducing me to Katie Murray's beautiful work...
She is great! Thanks for following along!
So much history around you everywhere in New York....
This was a life-changing read

Great issue as always!
Did you know of my favorite things to do each issue is okay “Find the traffic cone.”
There is almost always a traffic cone!
Now I’m self conscious - self conescious? I’ll have to do a Cafe Anne-esqe challenge of photographing no cones for a week
LOL I love the idea that this might be challenging for you!
Also I have been to the Hole it is so crazy! Very looking forward to that episode!
