Travis filled in as small town 1920s Kansas in the classic 1961 film "Splendor in the Grass," which oddly enough was filmed entirely in NY and NJ. The home of Natalie Wood's character was on Victory Blvd across from Sylvan Grove Cemetery. There's a photo of Wood, co-star Warren Beatty, Robert Wagner, Director Elia Kazan, and a gorgeous Joan Collins (who was dating Beatty at the time) incongruously sitting on folding chairs on the curb in the middle of nowhere Staten Island during a break in the filming.
