The image of the old wooden fence was such a relief in the middle of all these monstrosities... What's wrong with people (rhetoric question). I found this post because Anne Kadet linked it in her own impression of this neighborhood -- great complement.
Whatever Christmas lights used to go on here are no more.
Definitely nothing here like what happens currently in Dyker heights. I can think of maybe 5 houses that put up lights worth looking at, and there is no traffic from other neighborhoods coming to see anything over here.
Perhaps this is due to changing demographics in the neighborhood, or perhaps the lights stopped by design in order to keep visitors away.
In any event, if you’re looking for Xmas, Halloween, or any other type of decoration celebration don’t waste your time on Mill Basin. Dyker Heights is definitely still going hard on the decorations wars if you’re into that kind of thing.
I can't win when it comes to these borders! I used google maps for the neighborhood boundaries. I'll be sure to do some more research if/when I cover OMB

Gotta go back for christmas lights - it rivals dyker heights
also don't forget the bar mitzvah/wedding center el caribe owned by Michael Cohen's uncle
I’m from Clinton Hill.
I’ve lived in Mill Basin since 2017.

El caribe! Amazing tip! I’ll definitely go back for Xmas lights. Thanks!
A totally nutter neighborhood! Loved the time lapse pic of how it got developed.
Entertaining observations, as always!
High on the nuttiness for sure! Thanks Nicole!
Those houses. Just...wow!!!
Remind me not to bill Anthony Casso.
I think you are safe!
2458 National Drive!!!
Next NYC substack meetup?
Mr. Rossetti sounds like a charmer.
“Ferrari piano so that you can play faster” lol
These are quirky!!! I think this might be my favorite neighborhood post so far.
Thanks Kuleigh! Definitely a unique place!
wow...I am speechless... this neighborhood elevates MacMansions to a whole new level
Old mill basin is a lot larger than whatever fake realtor map you used
