Because I have it, here is a timelapse in 2021 for T Magazine looking down Walker Street.
Right after I sent my last newsletter, I came across a clip of artist Robert Janz working in a small corner of Tribeca around Duane Park. The clip showed Janz painting letters on a building facade with nothing but a bottle of water and a brush.
Transience and impermanence were central themes of Janz's work, and these brushstrokes of water, hastily applied onto sidewalks and building facades before they evaporated, were the ultimate distillation of those qualities. The film Disappearing Man, made by Noah David Smith, is only 4 minutes and well worth watching.
